Charles Sturt University (CSU) is an Australian multi-campus public university located in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory. Established in 1989, it was named in honour of Captain Charles Sturt, a British explorer who made expeditions into regional New South Wales and South Australia.

CSU has more than 350 courses on offer than can unlock student potential to create a better life for them, their family, their community and the world.

Real-life experience

Our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offer a perfect balance of theory and practice, to prepare you for the real world. Working closely with relevant industries, we offer study opportunities that help students develop real-life, employable skills. We also offer a 12-week internship after graduation*, so you can add practical workplace experience to your resume, which is a major selling point on job applications.

12 subject postgraduate degrees

Thanks to our unique 12 subject postgraduate degrees, you only need to complete three subjects per semester. This gives you a lighter workload, which allows time for extra curricular activities and makes your degree more affordable. You are still eligible to apply for the Post Study Working Visa when you graduate.

Flexible entry requirements

If you don’t meet the English entry requirement for your place at CSU Study Centres, you can still get into your dream degree course through an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. Embassy English provides a comprehensive English pathway program into CSU Study Centres, and is conveniently located on-site at our centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Transitioning to university couldn’t be simpler.

Multiple intake dates

Begin your CSU degree at a time that suits you. Our degree programs allow for flexible entry, with multiple intake dates available in February, July and November every year.

Smaller classes

Our small classes enable more individual attention, which encourages greater academic success. It also means our teachers know their students by name, so you won’t feel like a number in a large university, but part of a warm and supportive family.

Free support

We know studying in a new country can be a daunting experience, that’s why our teachers and centre staff are dedicated to providing extra help to our international students, to ensure you adjust to life in Australia.

To give you the confidence you need to thrive at CSU Study Centres all our students receive FREE Academic Writing and Learning Skills Workshops, which includes one-to-one appointments with our Study Support Coordinators.

ESOS Framework

CSU Study Centres commits to complying with the ESOS framework which is comprised of legislative requirements and standards for the quality assurance of education and training institutions offering courses to international students.
